Adipotide (FTPP): Fat-Targeted Proapoptotic Peptide for Adipose Vasculature Ablation Research

Adipotide FTPP single product featuring detailed models: Adipotide 5mg, 10mg. Sequence CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)2, molecular weight ∼2.5kDa, mechanism via prohibitin targeting on white adipose endothelium → mitochondrial membrane disruption via D(KLAKLAK)2 proapoptotic domain → adipose vascular apopto

Adipotide (Fat-Targeted Proapoptotic Peptide, FTPP, also known as Prohibitin-Targeting Peptide 1) is a chimeric 26-amino-acid peptidomimetic composed of a targeting domain CKGGRAKDC that binds prohibitin/ANXA2 complex selectively expressed on endothelium of white adipose tissue vasculature, fused via GG linker to a proapoptotic effector domain D(KLAKLAK)2 that disrupts mitochondrial membranes after internalization. Unlike AOD 9604 (lipolysis) or GLP-1s (appetite), Adipotide induces apoptosis of adipose blood vessels, causing ischemic ablation of white fat without affecting brown fat or other organs in preclinical models. It is the most distinctive compound for targeted white adipose tissue ablation research, obesity reversal via vascular approach, insulin resistance improvement secondary to fat loss, and prohibitin/annexin A2 targeting studies.
Adipotide functions via a 4-step targeted ablation cascade. 1. SEQUENCE & STRUCTURE: CKGGRAKDC (Targeting Ligand) – GG (Linker) – DKLAKLAKKLAKLAK (Proapoptotic). Molecular Weight ∼2.5 kDa, chimeric peptidomimetic, contains D-amino acids for protease resistance in effector domain. 2. TARGETING WHITE ADIPOSE VASCULATURE: Adipotide circulates → binds Prohibitin/ANXA2 complex specifically on white adipose tissue (WAT) endothelium (not brown adipose, not normal vasculature), internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Selectivity: White Adipose Tissue Blood Vessels only. 3. MITOCHONDRIAL DISRUPTION & APOPTOSIS: D(KLAKLAK)2 domain is amphipathic α-helical cationic peptide → disrupts mitochondrial inner membrane → releases cytochrome c → activates caspase-3 → endothelial apoptosis. Effect: Capillary ablation → adipose ischemia. 4. FAT MASS REDUCTION & METABOLIC OUTCOME: White Adipose Tissue – ↓Vascular supply → adipocyte apoptosis due to hypoxia/nutrient deprivation → ↓Fat Mass → improved metabolic profile: ↓Body weight, ↑Insulin sensitivity, ↓Inflammation. Preclinical data (Science Translational Medicine, obese monkeys): rapid weight loss via fat mass reduction, preserved lean mass. This is vascular-targeted obesity reversal, not appetite suppression.
Our Adipotide FTPP lineup is supplied as high-purity lyophilized powder (>99% HPLC) with COA. For targeted ablation research, Adipotide 5mg (standard research dose) and 10mg (value) are available. Due to its potent proapoptotic mechanism, Adipotide belongs to Fat Metabolism Peptides category but as a special mechanistic subgroup distinct from metabolic rate amplifiers like 5-Amino-1MQ or mitochondrial peptides like MOTS-c/SLU-PP-332. Stable 24 months at -20°C, protect from light. For Research Use Only, not for human consumption.
